About This Journey

About This Journey

Spend seven days in Mexico's Yucatán peninsula moving between colorful colonial towns, ancient pyramids, jungle cenotes, and a small Maya village near Ek Balam. You'll see the famous sites and the quieter corners, with practices like temazcal, cacao, and Maya cosmovisión woven naturally through the week rather than just added on top.

What to Expect

This trip mixes city, nature, and village life.

You'll start in Mérida and Valladolid-walkable colonial towns with plazas, cafés, and good food. From there you'li visit major Maya sites like Uxmal and Chichén Itzá (stone pyramids and temples), and a smaller, more jungle-covered site at Ek Balam.

Along the way you'll swim in cenotes-freshwater sinkholes that feel like natural stone pools-spend three nights in simple cabins in a Maya village, and take part in practices like temazcal (sweat lodge), a hands-on cacao workshop and ceremony, and a teaching circle on Maya cosmovisión.

Days are full but not frantic: usually one main site or experience, a town or cenote stop, time to eat, and some space to rest or wander on your own.

Meet Rocio

Rocío is a Mexican native of Toltec lineage with more than 30 years in temazcal and ceremonial practice, carrying teachings passed directly from the elders who trained her. She leads from lived experience, not performance - and because of who she is, doors open that remain closed to most. This gives our guests access to sacred places and people that are never part of tourism - not the version built for visitors, but the one protected by trust built over generations.

Is This Retreat For You?

This trip is probably not ideal if:

  • You're looking for an all-inclusive resort, room service, and poolside cocktails every day.

  • You strongly dislike walking, stairs, or being outside in warm weather.

  • You want a week that's either pure party or pure spa-this sits somewhere in between.

You'll likely feel at home if:

  • You want to see the Yucatán beyond a resort, but still appreciate having hosts who know the route and handle the details.

  • You're genuinely curious about temazcal, cacao, and Maya cosmovisión and want to experience them in a grounded, respectful way.

  • You're okay with simple accommodations, some heat, walking, and village life (roosters, night sounds, stars).
